About The Book

Hepatic Distomatosis is one of the main parasitic diseases that limit the development of the livestock industry in the country since the pathological effects of Distomatosis result in a notable decrease in animal production and productivity in addition to the loss of valuable protein sources due to the seizure of parasitized livers. In Peru the losses caused annually to livestock farming in the country have been estimated at around 11 million dollars Leguía (1988). It has been estimated that in the world there are more than 550 million of these animals exposed to suffer from Distomatosis. This disease causes seizures of livers in slaughterhouses and losses in the productive potential of affected animals.
