Pride and Prejudice

Set in early 19th-century England the story follows the Bennet family and their five daughters particularly the second eldest daughter Elizabeth as they navigate the social conventions of their time in pursuit of love and marriage. The novel is known for its wit social commentary and portrayal of the complex relationships between men and women in Austens time. The central theme of the novel is the danger of making hasty judgments and the importance of overcoming ones own prejudices.
