Primary health care in Brazil especially after the creation of the Family Health Strategy has achieved significant population coverage and important results for the health of the population. However in order to consolidate Primary Care in the Unified Health System it is essential to overcome some challenges and make progress in qualifying services. Thus Primary Care in the country emerged as a central issue on the federal government's agenda between 2011 and 2014 when it instituted a number of initiatives to this end.
