Principles And Applications Of Crop Production

This book is written for students of agriculture agribusiness or agro-forestry. These may be undergraduates using this as a core text book or graduate students using it as a reference. It is written for world audience of readership but is contextualized within the African Great Lakes region. It is the intention of this book to let the reader know that energy from the sun has to be captured by the plants’ chlorophyll complex for photosynthesis and respiration making life on earth livable. The book is divided into five parts covering meteorological factors the science behind crop production agronomy of crops; the various farming systems practiced in the region; and the current trends of crop production. It ends up discussing the “Agri-Park” model developed by the author as a precursor to setting up agricultural based cottage industries.
