Probabilistic Analysis for Residual Shear Strength of Corroded RC Beam
English

About The Book

Corrosion of reinforcing steel and subsequent concrete deterioration is a major problem faced by the construction industry. However limited work is available for the estimation of the shear strength of corrosion-damaged members. This book deals with the study to develop an empirical model to predict the residual shear strength of reinforced concrete beams with varying degree of reinforcement corrosion for which it depicts an experimental setup as well in order to substantiate the results by subjecting the casted beams to corrosion by impressed current technique. Load behavior of the corroded and uncorroded beams were tested in four point bend tests. To ascertain the degree of corrosion gravimetric analysis has been carried out. The content of this book also presents an approach to determine the probability of failure based on the proposed strength prediction model using Monte Carlo simulation.
