PRODUCTION & MARKETING OF GROUNDNUT IN THE NORTHERN HILLS OF C.G.

The study was conducted in Sitapur block in Surguja district of Chhattisgarh state. The primary data is collected from the groundnut producers through a personal interview method with the help of well prepare scheduled and questionnaire for the production and marketing year 2015-16. The growth rate of area production and productivity of Chhattisgarh and Surguja districts was worked out by using exponential analysis. The simple mean and average method was used to work out the cost of cultivation marketable surplus and disposal pattern of groundnut crop. This study has attempted to examine the economic analysis of groundnut production and marketing in the Surguja district of Chhattisgarh state. The study''s specific objectives were (i) To study the socio-economic profile of the groundnut growers in the study area. (ii) To estimate the growth rate of area production and productivity of groundnut in different sizes of farms. (iii) To study the cost of production per quintal and returns in groundnut production in different sizes of farms. (iv) To estimate the marketing costs marketing margin and price spread in the marketing of groundnut.
