Workers'' health and safety still requires a lot of study attention and public and private policies to guarantee it. Despite being one of the most common occupational diseases hearing loss continues to affect many workers. Thus the development of hearing loss prevention programmes (HLPP) is more than necessary. However it is not enough for the programmes to be developed they need to be effective. And for this to happen HIPs need to consider in addition to quantitative aspects qualitative aspects of the work environment. Their effectiveness depends on compliance with the legislation but also on the information provided to workers. The different social actors especially the workers need to be involved. Thus Health Education with effective communication needs to be present in the elaboration and implementation of PPPAs.
