Proliferation Capacity & osteogenic potential of hGMSCs versus hDPSCs

About The Book

Bone is one of the human body tissues that undergo normal physiological renewal having some capacity to repair damage caused by disease or trauma. Sometimes the damage is beyond the normal repair capacity. Thus need intervention in order to heal properly. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) have gained worldwide attention due to their potential uses in tissue engineering and regeneration. Some reports showed that human gingival mesenchymal stem cells (GMSCs) can differentiate into different cell types however there is still limited evidence regarding their capacity for bone regeneration. In this study we investigated the proliferation capacity and osteogenic potential of GMSCs and compared them to those of DPSCs.
