Proposals For Improving Medication Administration Systems

Psychiatric settings present added obstacles to smooth medication administration particularly due to the increased vulnerability of patients. Few studies have investigated medication administration systems within the psychiatric setting. The objectives of this study were to propose improvements aiming at strengthening and increasing the efficiency of the medication administration systems currently practiced at a state psychiatric hospital and to decrease issues occurring as a result of administration errors and non-compliance to the established protocols and guidelines.
