Propulsion System for a Silent Aircraft: The Elevated Wing Technology

Making an aircraft silent involves many things. One sure solution is achieving a lower stall speed. If an aircraft can fly at very low speed and still ascend then lower noise is expected. A lower stall speed poses the challenge of an increased swept area and larger wings. A larger wing area means a higher expected flutter and vibration which could lead to catastrophic failure in flight. This work tends to widen the operational envelop involving all factors involved in achieving a lower stall speed.
