Prosthodontic Management of Endodontically Treated Teeth

Extensive caries may lead to loss of the tooth structure that can’t be restored with full crown coverage only as optimal retention and resistance form with tooth preparation can’t be achieved. In this situation a post that fills the prepared root canal will retain the core material that will replace the coronal structure that has been lost over which the full crown can retain and provide protection to remaining tooth structure.
