Prototype driven development of a distributed whiteboard

If seriously following the principles in the Agile Manifest making pair programming distributed in the agile context seems to be a paradox. On the other hand already the first international conference for Extreme Programming presented a notable publication related to distributed collaboration with the Team Streams system that provided support for asynchronous interaction. Over the years several tools and plug-ins were developed for DPP. Among these you will find Saros available as Eclipse and IntelliJ plug-ins providing synchronization of workspaces and visibility while extending views and perspectives with team supporting features. During this work Saros was iteratively extended by a distributed SVG-based whiteboard.
