Provisional Restorations in Dentistry

Provisional restorations also known as interim restoration are integral component of any prosthodontic treatment procedures. They are fabricated to enhance esthetics stabilization and function for a short duration of time. Patients must be provided with provisional restoration from initial tooth preparation until definitive prosthesis is placed. The flexural strength and modulus of elasticity plays an integral role in the success of provisional restorations. Thus the main purpose of the study is to evaluate and compare the flexural strength and modulus of elasticity of three provisional restorative materials.
