PRP in Socket Bone Regeneration

Oral implants maxillofacial reconstruction regenerative periodontal procedures are highly dependent on successful bone regeneration. Bone regenerative techniques including graft materials protein & barrier membranes are often used to improve bone quality before or during these treatment. Many studies both invitro &invivo have disclosed the effectiveness of growth factors that can enhance cell proliferation differentiation chemotaxis & extracellular matrix synthesis involved in healing of tissuesdespite their potential usefulness animal derived or genetically engineered growth factors are currently not available for regenerative therapies because their safety has not yet been completely confirmed.Platelets contain important growth factors that when secreted are responsible for increasing cell mitosis increasing collagen production recruiting other cells to the site of injury initiating vascular in-growth and inducing cell differentiation. These are all crucial steps in early wound healing. increasing the concentration of platelets at a wound may promote more rapid healing and bone regeneration.
