Pásame la Sal is a collection of family recipes that have been perfected over time and influenced by Puerto Rican, Mexican, American, Spanish, and Argentinian cuisines. It is a project that, as Beverly’s husband puts it, was “born from the heart and directed primarily to our family—who has been the main beneficiary of her passion, skill, and relentless work to compile all the recipes we have come to love.”Home for Beverly is Puerto Rico, which is where many of the dishes in Pásame la Sal originate. The cookbook—written in English—is divided into several categories: breads, breakfast & lunch, soups & salads, drinks & sides, main dishes, salsas, and desserts."I love how food can serve as a connector when meeting new people," Beverly says. "I think it is so wonderful that minutes after meeting a Latino on the street, our conversation inevitably shifts to food (and probably soccer). We treat each other like we have known each other forever. And then we start planning when we will get together to share our favorite dishes. Latinos are all very proud of their culture and cuisine. Hence, we love sharing the food that makes us feel good and reminds us of home."Beverly is extremely grateful to be able to share her love for food with you and your family. There’s nothing better than gathering around the table with the people who’ve been by your side all along. The memories that are created while enjoying yummy food and great company are priceless, and they’ll not only nourish your body but also your soul.
