Involuntary mental hospitalization is a political act based on the misguided need of the state to control its undesirable or deviant citizens. It has no place in a free society as it is a violation of the fundamental rights to personal freedom and individual liberty. It is the purpose of this book to present arguments in favor of personal freedom and to rekindle a dialogue over an often too easily accepted set of practices.
