Public ethics in Africa

FrenchThe public services of French-speaking Black African countries are outdated and do not correspond to the new demands of public management and the current context. This is why its renewal is an urgent necessity although it must obey certain conditions such as adapting to the new form of citizen demand. This new formulation of citizens' demands on public service is the result of a profound transformation of African societies following the shift in democratic paradigms. Indeed the need to renew the African public service is explained by the fact that it has outgrown its classic model inherited from colonization and by the complexity of the new forms of demand addressed to it. As for adapting to the demands of new public management this must necessarily involve modernizing public administration and redefining the notion of the general interest in order to take better care of it and meet the new challenges of public service in these African countries.
