Public Policies - Collective Health Psychologists' Work

About The Book

The Unified Health System (SUS) has proved to be a positive strategy for treating the health of the population but some issues still need to be discussed including the role of psychologists in the Family Health Support Centre (NASF). A study was therefore undertaken with a view to understanding through a literature review the work of psychology professionals who make up the NASF teams through the Basic Health Units (UBS). In order to do this we used official documents articles course completion papers and other studies to learn about the history of the actions that led to the inclusion of psychologists in this space. This led to the conclusion that psychologists play an important role in primary care as they seek to maintain dialogues with UBS users thus reducing the problems they experience in order to avoid future complications and only afterwards if they need to extend this care to a clinic. A bibliographical survey of the hospital is reported recording the origins of the first hospitals and their purpose from the pioneers to the present day.
