Public policies in social assistance and technical psychological management:

The book presents questions regarding the psychologist''s performance in social assistance based on the description of the activities carried out in a mandatory internship in the fifth year of psychology at the Faculdade da Amazônia Ocidental (FAAO) held at the Centro de Referência em Assistência Social (CRAS) of the Tancredo Neves neighborhood in Rio Branco-AC. According to the Ministry of Social Development and Fight Against Hunger (MDS) the Federal Constitution of 1988 brought greater prominence to Social Assistance. In 1993 with the publication of the Organic Law of Social Assistance (LOAS) the area began to be ordered as a Public Policy guaranteeing rights to citizens throughout the National Territory.Ten years later following this new policy the Social Assistance Reference Centers (CRAS) were established. This institution is the gateway for users and families throughout the Brazilian State who seek access to the social assistance policy regarding the guarantee of rights orientation and inclusion in courses for the insertion of people in the labor market.
