The report of Major General John J. Pershing commander of the expedition into Mexico to capture Villa and his bandits. Also referred to as the Pancho Villa Expedition or the Mexican Expedition. It was launched against the Mexican insurgent Francisco Pancho Villa in retaliation for Villa''s attack on Columbus New Mexico during the Mexican Revolution. The expedition took place from 1916 to 1917. The report is made up of a series of smaller sections submitted to the Commanding general of the Southern Department at Fort Sam Houston Texas. It is broken into two general sections. The first is organization and operations and the second deals with the administration of general staff in the field Contents of appendices: staff reports miscellaneous maps (maps not present; original document unavailable for scanning).
