Purls of Emotions

About the Book: The poems of this book are the distilled water droplets shining in the light of reality. These poems are the stones thrown into the calm lake water creating the purls-the purls of emotion in a heavy heart. Some of the poems here are the bitterest tears not been shed over graves of desires. This poetry collection can claim that the emotions of the poet has really found their thoughts and the thoughts have found their words. But one should not necessarily pretend to understand these poems rather simply it is necessary to love them. The poet doesn’t just talk he conveys something important. These poems are to be seen heard touched and loved by readers. In the poems collected here there is the beautiful sound of the soul. There is a charm which suddenly makes the most ordinary things very important. There is the wonderful aesthetic pleasure created by the poems which appeases the appetencies of the mind. There is the rhythm of thoughts which is like an inward dancing. Even the nervous and cacophonous nature of daily life and weird situations are dealt with grace in some poems. The poet has tried simply to make it impossible for the readers to misunderstand his poems. While reading this collection one can feel the touch of the purls of the poet’s heartfelt emotions and can think in solitude that poet’s pen is really a heavy oar which rows in the strong current of ideas ebbing and flowing every time in our minds.About the Author: An Associate Professor of English at SGT University Gurugram Haryana Dr Anupam Kumar is a ‘Kameshwar Poddar Smriti Samman’ awardee for poetry in the year 2007. He is a polymath writing in several north Indian languages. His poems have been selected in the poetry collection ‘World Within Words’. He was among the forty four young poets whose poems were selected in ‘Koshi ki Zameen’ edited by Dr Devendra Kumar Dewesh Sahitya Academy Kolkatta.
