Purusha Suktam is considered as the most revered vedic text that speaks of the glory of God Vishnu. This sookta figures in both Rigveda and Yajurveda with some additional hymns. A very sacred text that is recited invariably during abhisheka while doing pooja. As is the case with all vedic texts the meaning of this sookta is also not easy to be understood. Hence there is a need to fall back on commentaries of reputed commentators. Sri Sri Vadiraja Teertha Swamiji was a saint of very high repute and an extraordinarily learned philosopher. His commentary on Purusha Sukta is one of the rare works that deserve wide publicity. The original text of this commentary is also provided to benefit those who are acquainted with Sanskrit language. The English translation is an attempt to bring in the intent and meaning of the original Sanskrit texts of the Sookta as well as Commentary as nearly and truly as possible to the English knowing religious and pious individuals.
