Quality Assessment of Co-Tromoxazole Tablets

It is important to remember that the drugs specially antibiotics are crucial to meet the important objective of improving public health and this depends on the way of handling with the drugs before taken by the patient. Improper way of handling during development manufacturing import subsequent handling within the distribution chain and storage will affect the quality of these drugs including chemical inequivalence and bio-inequivalence which are important causes of multi-drug resistance of antibiotic. Consequently they should conformed to prescribed standards and their quality should be rigorously controlled. This will ensure the formulation of products of acceptable standards in contents of active ingredients good physical and chemical stability acceptable microbiological quality and this will improve the public health and decrease the multi-drug resistance of antibiotics which occurs because of drug quality problems. This work was done on ten brands of one of the most popular antibiotic (Co-trimoxazole) in Yemeni market.
