Quality control in feed mills

About The Book

In order to obtain standardized feed of high quality with low loss rates and lower costs feed mills must undergo an assessment of the quality aspects of raw materials; buildings and facilities; equipment and utensils; factory sanitation; personal hygiene; manufacturing; identification storage and distribution; pest control; quality control; and traceability assurance. To this end sampling must be carried out at all stages of production storage of raw materials and feed processing to determine the physical chemical and microbiological analyses that characterize product quality as well as loss rates in the processes. The implementation of GMP and HACCP tools in feed mills is the basis and the beginning of a quality management system that provides a safer environment with a focus on prevention improving production conditions. The end result of GMP and HACCP in feed mills is the quality of finished products within technical standards and specifications.
