Amblyopia affects 5% of the population and according to several studies its prevalence could increase over the next 20 years. The aim of our work was to study the impact of amblyopia treatment by occlusion on the quality of life of children and parents. Amblyopia treatment by occlusion is responsible for an alteration in the quality of life of both children and parents on a personal educational and psychosocial level. It is therefore advisable not to make the child wear the patch outside the home and if possible to use other means to treat amblyopia such as atropine eye drops.
