With their 1937 Grunman Goose airplane filled with camping gear and enough food to feed five people for two weeks the family is more than ready for their adventure near a Calgary lake. But when the plane encounters an unexpected storm everything changes in an instant. Moments later Marty crawls from the plane’s wreckage to find herself stranded in a mountain wilderness with two small children completely unprepared for such a catastrophe.<br /></span><span style=font-size: small;><br />Marty is determined to do everything she can to keep her children alive in a desolate cold and unfamiliar environment. As she struggles with the strenuous tasks required to survive she must rely on her novice hunting butchering and plant gathering skills. Soon Marty realizes that rescuers are not coming; it is up to her to find a way out of the deep mountain valley and back home.
