Rabies and associated risk factors in Lemikura Sub City

Rabies caused by the rabies virus is widespread in Ethiopia with 59000 - 60000 human deaths annually. Limited vaccination coverage in urban areas and absence in rural communities are due to insufficient knowledge about rabies. We conducted a survey in Lemikura sub-city Addis Ababa Ethiopia to assess community knowledge attitudes and practices regarding rabies.The overall objective of this study was to support decision-making in the prevention and control of rabies in Ethiopia by providing evidence on knowledge attitude and practice of respondents towards rabies and associated risk factors.
