At its heart is a complex love triangle set against the turbulent Swadeshi movement in Bengal.The Crescent Moon or Sishu (1903) is a collection of simple beautiful poems written primarily for children whom Tagore saw as a symbol of hope and new life. It was deeply appreciated by many of his illustrious contemporaries including the Nobel laureates Gide and Jimenez.
