Racial Discrimination and the Decline of Cultural Identity

The present book focuses on the study of Conrad’s Nigger of the Narcissus that is replete with the oriental cultural and racial contents themes and elements. The critical issues of O race and identity are Edward Said’s Frantz Fanon''s and Homi Bhabha''s justifications which were manifested as Oriental discourse and the concept of the O racism and decline of identity. In fact their ideas opened new chapters in the Western cultural and literary studies.The book also revolves around an investigation of Joseph Conrad’s Nigger of the Narcissus and his orientalism racism and identity problem. O is another idea in the research which is associated with the wholeness of the colonial tradition on the one hand and with Conrad’s orientalism on the other.
