Raganis of Mehr Singh

About the Book: The Haryanvi text for these Raganis was borrowed from Kavita Kosh (http://kavitakosh.org) a platform to provide. The website states that the copyright laws of the original poet apply. Since Mehr Singh it has been fifty plus since Mehr Singhs death and I do not believe any copyright was passed down to heirs or a third party it is assumed that the author has all the rights to translate the work to English. Two qissas: Chaap Singh and Harischandra have been translated from Haryanvi to English. The original text in devnagri script is provided with the respective translations. About the Author: Uday Goyat is a high school student and is fluent in Haryanvi Hindi and English. Like many other families his familys move to urban areas made him lose touch with the Haryanvi culture. He empathizes with other such Haryanvi families and has translated some folk music in order to immerse the new generation who may not be fluent in Haryanvi to still keep in touch with their roots. He hopes to translate more work in the coming future.
