Railroad Days

Railroad Days is not an ordinary book about trains and locomotives. Instead with approximately ninety photographs and illustrations illuminating the memories of the author and other former track workers Railroad Days shows the reader a time in American history when the railways were the nation's superhighways. The first-person recollections of those laboring in track maintenance reveal a now fading way of life. Indeed the author exemplifies this vanishing era as his is among the four generations of his family to have worked for the Delaware Lackawanna Railroad. Individual sections describe the tough work and teamwork performed by Langone and other railroad personnel including trainmen signalmen and station agents.
