About The Book

During the First World War approximately 15600 West Indians signed up to the British West Indies Regiment including men from Jamaica Barbados The Bahamas Guyana Belize Grenada the Leeward Islands St Lucia St Vincent and Trinidad and Tobago.The play follows the story of a Grenadian soldier Lazarus Emmanuel Lewis François who left his tiny island in 1915 to fight for King and country.It is a play steeped in history family and the relationship we have with our ancestors and the past.The play weaves a tale rooted in fact but also uses poetic license to bring to life all the different characters.This book is written in the play/script format as written and performed by Kat François.
