RAJARSHI SHAHU KARMAVEER BHAURAO PATIL ANI PRABODHANKAR THAKARAY

We must first understand the nature of the relation between Shahu Chhatrapati Prabodhankar and Karmaveer. For Maharaj Prabodhankar was one of his esteemed associates in his fight against the Brahmanshahi the domination of Brahmans. He was the sole fighter in this battle. Their friendship and long-lasting relationship was based on the firm foundation of Maharaj’s sincere support and encouragement to Prabodhankar. Although Prabodhankar looked upon Maharaj as the rescuer of the neglected strata of the society he was never Maharaj’s disciple.It was an entirely different tale when it came to Karmaveer Bhakra Patil. To him both Maharaj and Prabodhankar were his mentors. Prabodhankar was a senior associate a guide friend-philosopher in his mission of spreading education. However in Bhaurao’s mind he always remained more of a Guru. Maharaj too had a fondness towards Bhaurao. He was aware and heartbroken about the fact that this young man was treated unfairly in the tar incident. His emotions and fondness grew deeper after witnessing Bhaurao’s ability to forget all the atrocities while moving towards achievement of his mission sincerely. He was extremely proud of Bhaurao for fulfilling his dream of spreading education among the downtrodden classes during the British regime.
