About The Book

A Raman study relating anharmonicity and thermal decomposition for the first time. In this work high-temperature Raman spectra are used to compare temperature dependence of the lattice mode wavenumber of L-alanine L-threonine and taurine crystals. Short and strong hydrogen bonds in L-alanine crystal were associated with anharmonic effects in lattice modes leading to low thermal stability compared to taurine crystals. Connection between thermal decomposition process and anharmonic effects is furnished for the first time.
