Reading Competence in the Context of Globalisation

Reading academic texts usually explains a vital part of students'' academics. In the Indian context most of the academic textbooks in higher education are in English which is a second language for the Indian students. The book begins with an elaboration of the status of English as a global language and institutionalization of standardisation of levels of achievement in Reading competence in languages in general and English in particular.
