Reading New Testament Writings through Non-supersessionist Lenses

<p>This book re-reads New Testament writings through non-supersessionist lenses. This reading strategy serves to facilitate conversations of greater honor and respect with Jews who do not follow Jesus as their <em>Christos</em> (Messiah). Supersessionism as a reading strategy of the New Testament serves to replace displace or supersede ethnocultural Israel in God's salvific economy with the multiethnic followers of Jesus the <em>Christos</em>. Post-supersessionist readings on the other hand explore how a New Testament text or book serves theologically ideologically socially culturally and/or politically to emplace Jews and Gentiles who are followers of Jesus further into God's eternal covenant with Israel.</p>
