Reason as a paradigm for the development of the state

For Hegel the African continent is classified in the antechamber of history where the Spirit has not yet crossed the threshold of life. This continent which has not seen any development will remain so because African man is still in an irrational and animal state. As a result he cannot freely exercise his reason. Because of his inferiority which is linked to the geographical conditions that isolate him from the rest of the world.
