It is Victorian London 1897. The streets are shrouded in smog from the smokestacks where hundreds of immigrants labor. On the outskirts of London a young girl Miss Jessamine Alcott Maymes is about to discover something that would change the lives of all future generations. When a mysterious automaton appears at a debutante ball on a mission Jessamine's desire for adventure leads her on a perilous journey. Following this automaton through London's slums she discovers secrets about a world that is changing into one that would forever be ruled by automatons.
