Recent Updates on Nutraceuticals for Treatment of Male Infertility

Infertility is a pathological condition characterized as a sexually active non-contracepting couple''s failure to conceive within a year. Infertility may be caused by both male and female causes. According to the reasons 29.3 percent is due to a male factor 37.1 percent is due to a female factor 17.6 percent is due to both male and female factors and the remaining proportion is deemed idiopathic. A slew of recent research has focused on the capacity of a variety of chemicals collectively known as nutraceuticals to enhance hormonal state and sperm parameters through various processes. Dietary supplements (DS) containing nutraceuticals are extensively promoted for the prevention or treatment of a broad range of pathological disorders. This book stated that taking nutraceuticals has been demonstrated to increase sperm parameters in infertile males. The impact of several nutraceuticals on semen parameters was also studied. Men with infertility who have poor sperm parameters particularly decreased sperm motility may be candidates for nutraceutical management.
