I say a part for as I stated at the time I designed it merely as the forerunner of a larger and more complete work then in course of preparation. Indeed so far had I advanced in the preparation of the com plete work that the material necessary to it had nearly all been gathered and it remained only to obtain a few additional data and to perform the mechanical part of arrangement and revi sion.
