Is a compilation of writings and thoughts of expressions expanding over the course of a decade and a half. Akili struggled as a young black youth to comprehend and articulate not only his own thoughts but also those of a wide range of complex issues and subject matter such as the following: ourstorical awareness racism slavery self love mass incarceration politics loneliness poverty family values loyalty betrayal miseducation capitalism & oppression to name a few. Not properly knowing where to begin his journey Akili began with self; knowledge of self! Embarking on a lifelong journey of independent research and study Akili began to express the above subject matters the best way he knew how with a pen! Allow Akili to share his best part which is his mind with those who take the time to examine his work.
