About The Book

The book Reimagining Literature and Space seeks to provide an overview of the key theoretical approaches to spatial studies and their most important inquiries and methodological implications. Our fundamental goal is to present a comprehensive analysis that includes classical geo-critical perspectives as well as contemporary transnational quantitative or digital studies that have impacted our understanding of space and its literary functions. This colloquium aims to bring together the fields of classical (Greco-Roman) and modern literature by focusing on space in literary works. We hope that this meeting will cross-fertilize (the study of space in) both domains by sparking discussion on similarities continuities and differences in the function of literary space. To this end we focus in particular on four themes like Surveillance studies Environmental Post-Humanism cartoons and graphic studies.
