This document is a technical-scientific study of the civil engineering profession focused on the integral analysis of reinforcing steel used in reinforced concrete structures. Through a systematic review of mechanical regulatory and constructive fundamentals essential topics such as yield strength tensile strength steel-concrete adhesion anchorage splices and corrosion protection are addressed. ASTM ACI and NMX standards are also incorporated along with laboratory testing procedures that support material quality control. The scientific approach of the paper provides an understanding of the interaction between steel and concrete from a structural and durability perspective. This work reflects the application of the engineering method in the resolution of real construction problems strengthening the professional skills of the civil engineer and promoting sustainable and safe practices in contemporary infrastructure.
