This text starts from inquiries initially focused on religiosity consequently how this occurs in the face of illness. It is a systematic analysis of a careful search of the literature with the objective of identifying the possible influences of religiosity in the process of people getting sick in Brazilian society carried out through dialogues between texts and authors who deal with the theme from the perspective of Health Anthropology. Thus the work approaches several religions and religiosities that involve Candomblé Umbanda Santo Daime the Universal Church Catholicism among others. It concludes that there is an influence on various aspects of religiosity in the face of illness from the risk of illness which occurs epistemologically and also subjectively through beliefs and religiosity and especially cultural references these factors assist in thinking and acting within societies.
