About The Book

Relining and Rebasing is a almost forgotten process in modern prosthodontics which can not only save time but also save money and can keep the patient satisfied. so lets dive into the sea of knowledge and read about this forgotten process which can revitalize dentures Relining involves resurfacing the tissue side of the denture to improve its fit. Over time the shape of the gums and jawbone can change due to aging or natural bone resorption which can cause dentures to become loose. During relining the dentist adds a new layer of material to the inside of the denture to ensure a better fit without needing to make a completely new set. While Rebasing is a more involved procedure where the denture's base is replaced entirely. It essentially means creating a new base for the existing denture teeth. This is done when the denture still has good teeth but the base is no longer functional or has become worn out. Rebasing is typically used when a denture has become too worn or the previous reline didn't provide sufficient improvement. Both procedures help extend the lifespan of dentures and improve comfort and fit reducing issues like soreness or discomfort from loose dentures.
