Remarks about the spacial cutout named Triple Border

The region between Foz do Iguaçu in Brazil Ciudad del Este in Paraguay and Puerto Iguazu in Argentina is commonly known as the triple border as well as the Iguassu trinational region and the trinational border. The present study aims at explaining the difference of these nomenclatures and making some remarks about the spacial cutout in question. For this the methodological process used was a bibliographical research and the analysis of critical data. First the conceptions of border and region are presented. Later the general features of the region of this study are presented. Finally the geopolitical importance of the region is commented alongside the characterization of the shared economic activities.
