Removal of Lead and Cadmium Complexes from Wastewater
English

About The Book

In the present work the removal of lead and cadmium metals highly hazardous to humans and the environment from a standard solution using bovine bone as a natural adsorbent is presented. Bone is mainly constituted by calcium apatite known as hydroxyapatite (HAP) which is a transparent-translucent solid and poorly soluble in water. The ionic character of PAH [Ca10(PO4)6(OH)2] gives it the capacity for partial or complete substitution of network ions by others of similar size. The main objective is to develop a simple and effective technique to help prevent and remediate the contamination of aquifers with heavy metals such as lead and cadmium.
