That's how Bill looks every day of his life. If you think he's a sad sack you might want to take a look at his wife! You could be surprised to know that yes Flapshell turtles do make sounds. Lot of them. They can produce a variety of vocalizations including hisses grunts and low-frequency sounds particularly when they're communicating with one another or trying to talk to humans tell us something like Get lost! or when they feel stressed out and have had a gutful of being held and want to be put down so they can walk around.
