Republic Of Moldova In Face Of Current Crises And The Need For Change

This book is embraces the series of acute problems of the Republic of Moldova (RM) provoked by Covid-19 pandemic including critical aspects of health security affecting the trade regime of country as well as integration of RM in the regional value chains. The economic crisis also revealed the need to adjust the country''s economic policy. In the first chapter we analyze the state’s preparedness for the COVID-19 crisis as well as argue the need for selective changes following the detection of critical aspects of health security. In the final chapter of the book is identified and assessed the economic vulnerabilities of the RM at the macro level as well some policy proposals for sustainable economic development are formulated. The book is also identifies acute problems in neighboring countries that can be used by decision makers in these countries in the process of adjusting state policies and drafting policy documents. Conclusions and proposals are given at the end of each chapter. In difficult times decisions should be made on the basis of clear relevant argued and impartial data-driven information. This information is analyzed and summarized in this book.
