Requisites

<p>Over two thousand five hundred years ago the Buddha suggested that a seeker's possessions could be pared down to eight requisites -- an outer robe an inner robe a cloak for winter a bowl a razor needle & thread a belt and a water strainer. In this collection of poems taking each element from his list Ramya Jirasinghe accompanies us on a quest for contentment where rejection of heedless consumerism could lead to ecological harmony and the Earth's restoration.</p>
